In 2026, dental veneers in Turkey cost €170–280 per tooth for E-max (the most common premium option) and €140–220 per tooth for zirconia. A full smile makeover with 16–20 veneers ranges from €2,890 to €4,900 including all consultations, hotel stay, transfers and final check. In comparison: €700–1,200 per tooth in Italy, £600–1,100 in the UK, $1,500–2,500 per tooth in the US.
The price difference is not a signal of lower quality. It is a direct function of operating costs: clinic rent, lab costs, staff salaries, and equipment depreciation are 60–75% lower in Turkey than in Western Europe and North America. Estetica Istanbul uses the same lab materials (Ivoclar E-max, GC Initial Zirconia) that premium European clinics use.
E-max is a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic. It has excellent translucency — light passes through it similar to natural enamel — which makes it the top choice for aesthetic front-tooth work. It is strong enough for veneers and crowns on anterior teeth but less suited to heavy back-tooth loading. Longevity: 10–15 years.
Zirconia is a solid, opaque ceramic. It is stronger than E-max and better for patients with bruxism (night grinding) or for crowns on back teeth. Modern "translucent zirconia" has closed much of the aesthetic gap with E-max but still has a slightly more opaque look under strong light. Longevity: 15–20 years.
Most patients get E-max on their front 8–10 teeth and zirconia or E-max on any back teeth included in the plan. A responsible clinic will recommend based on your tooth grinding patterns, existing tooth structure and smile line — not based on which material has a higher margin.
Day 1: consultation, clinical examination, digital X-rays, intraoral scans, and a discussion of goals. You get a written treatment plan and a digital smile design preview.
Day 2: preparation of the teeth under local anesthesia. Existing cavities are treated, enamel is shaped (0.3–0.8 mm for veneers, 1.0–1.5 mm for crowns), digital impressions are taken, temporary veneers are placed. You leave the clinic with a "preview" smile.
Days 3–4: lab fabrication. The in-house lab mills the final restorations from your digital impressions. You are free to explore Istanbul while wearing the temporaries, during which you can evaluate shape, length and bite.
Day 5: try-in of the final veneers before bonding. Any color or shape adjustments are handled here. The ceramist can make minor modifications on-site.
Day 6: final bonding under UV light. Each tooth is bonded individually, the bite is checked and refined, and you leave the clinic with your final smile. Soft foods for 24 hours, then normal diet.
Day 7: departure (or optional final check-up in the morning before flight). Complex cases may extend to 8–10 days.
A transparent Estetica Istanbul smile makeover package covers: all consultations and digital scans, X-rays and diagnostic work, teeth preparation under local anesthesia, treatment of any cavities or old fillings discovered, 16–20 E-max or zirconia veneers/crowns per your treatment plan, temporary veneers during lab fabrication, final bonding with premium cement, 6–7 nights in a 5-star hotel, private transfers airport-hotel-clinic, a care kit and instructions for long-term maintenance, and 12 months of WhatsApp follow-up with the treating dentist.
What is not included: flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, and advanced treatments if diagnosed during consultation (root canals on teeth with deep decay, implants on missing teeth). Any such additions are quoted transparently before you accept.
Red flag 1: a price of "€80 per veneer". No legitimate clinic can use premium E-max or zirconia at that price. Expect cheap composite veneers or feldspathic porcelain that chips within 2–3 years.
Red flag 2: "we do 20 crowns in 3 days". Proper preparation, lab fabrication, and bonding cannot be rushed under 5 days. A 3-day smile makeover means the lab skipped quality control.
Red flag 3: no pre-treatment cavities or gum disease assessment. Placing veneers over untreated decay is a guarantee that the veneer will fail within 2–3 years due to underlying infection.
Red flag 4: "we can do 24 crowns for everyone". Most patients do not need 24 teeth restored — the standard visible smile is 16–20 teeth. A clinic that insists on 24 crowns for everyone is upselling unnecessary work.
Well-maintained E-max and zirconia veneers last 10–20 years. To protect the investment: brush twice daily with a non-abrasive toothpaste, floss daily, use a night guard if you grind or clench teeth, avoid biting nails, ice or pens, limit deeply pigmenting foods (coffee, red wine, curry) or rinse afterward, attend a 6-month dental checkup, and do not use "whitening toothpaste" (abrasive — damages the surface).
Yes, when performed by licensed dentists in an accredited clinic using reputable materials (Ivoclar E-max, GC Initial Zirconia, etc.). The risk comes from choosing on price alone — unlicensed practitioners, cheap lab materials, and over-aggressive preparation are the three most common failure modes and they are not country-specific.
Most smile makeovers involve 16–20 teeth — the teeth visible when you smile widely. Treating fewer can create a visible mismatch with untreated teeth. Your dentist will determine the exact number based on your smile line.
Preparation is done under local anesthesia and is not painful during the procedure. Mild sensitivity to cold for 2–7 days afterward is normal and managed with desensitizing toothpaste.
Modern minimally invasive veneer preparation removes 0.3–0.8 mm of enamel, which is comparable to the thickness of a fingernail. This is permanent but does not significantly weaken the tooth. Crowns require more preparation (1.0–1.5 mm) and are used only when the tooth structure is already compromised.
Individual veneers can be replaced without re-doing the whole set. Bring clear photos and the case ID to Estetica Istanbul and we will coordinate a replacement with the original ceramist. Well-cared-for veneers rarely fail in the first 5 years.
