What Are Butt Implants?

Butt implants (gluteal augmentation with silicone implants) place soft, medical-grade silicone implants through a hidden incision in the gluteal crease. Unlike fat grafting (BBL), the result is permanent and doesn't depend on how much fat your body can harvest. This is the procedure of choice for slim patients who don't have enough donor fat for a BBL, or for patients who want a more defined, sculpted shape that holds over time.

Implants vs. BBL — and Why We Often Combine Them

BBL shapes the surrounding waist, hips and lower back by harvesting and injecting your own fat — but it only adds as much volume as your body has to give. Implants add permanent, reliable projection exactly where you want it. In many patients we combine the two: implants for central projection, fat grafting for a natural, rounded silhouette. The combined approach gives the most natural look and is standard for patients who want both definition and softness.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Patients who want permanent, defined gluteal volume, who don't have enough body fat for a full BBL, who have had previous BBL fat loss, or who want sculpted projection that stays consistent regardless of weight fluctuations. Recovery at a Glance

Two nights in hospital. No sitting directly on the buttocks for the first 2–3 weeks — patients sit on their thighs or use a BBL pillow. Light walking from day one. Back to desk work in 3–4 weeks. Full recovery and final shape visible at 3–6 months once swelling resolves and the implant settles.
